Giving Back to Our Community

Peter Clarke Black minority owned moving company owner

Peter Clarke, owner and founder of ANC Movers

"Starting my business in 1998 changed my life. It has been a dream come true and I feel it’s my responsibility to give back to the community that has given so much to me. We actively support many great local causes, including Habitat for Humanity and Girlfriends Run For a Cure.

Moving is more than my business, it’s my purpose."

Community involvement

Located in Vancouver, Share House provides an incredible spectrum of services to those in need. They offer everything from shelters for individuals and families to a Hot Meals program that provides free meals to the public and an Individual Development Accounts savings program to buy a home, start a business or pursue education. They also offer housing at Lincoln Place, a 30-unit permanent supportive housing apartment complex.

The Evergreen Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner. Habitat houses are sold to families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are recycled into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses. It’s a great cause and one ANC Movers is proud to support.

The Children’s Center in Vancouver provides great mental health services to families and children in Clark County. They are committed to serving all children in need. They help children improve their quality of life, enjoy meaningful daily activities, recover from mental illness, participate in community life, and take part in rewarding social interaction with others. At the Children’s Center, everyone is valued and treated with dignity and respect and individual differences are accepted.

The Emergency Support Shelter in Longview works to end sexual and domestic violence while providing education, safety, and support to our community.

Their work includes providing free services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence as well as to families and friends of victims and survivors
